I’ve been noticing that either Google’s process &/or partners in the poorly implemented and possibly ill-advised malware blocking program…
is/are in themselves infiltrated by right-wing elements intent on making it impossible / difficult for “social conscience” groups to get their message out on the web…
-else the process is buggy enough that it is easily manipulated by such wannabe censors.

There has been an ongoing issue with Organic Consumers Association’s website, which caused BOGUS BLOCKING of their site for maybe a week.
TODAY, I have just found BOGUS BLOCKING is affecting JudicialWatch.org

INTERNET CENSORSHIP SUCKS ~!

If you guys are part of it— please die soon, and rot in hell.
If you are not <del>-</del> PLEASE get your act together !

I’m not going to get entangled in a political show that doesn’t even belong to my country or even continent. So you have to excuse me for not commenting on that part of the message.

If there are any technical information or other that I can be of any help with, then I’d be happy to assist you, but I need more information for me to be able to figure out what can be done to help you.

If you could please direct me towards some of the pages that Google Webmaster Tools are claiming would cause the malware detection, then I’d be happy to have a look at these.

It is quite common these days for sites we know and “trust” to have been hacked or for third party content or ads on the site to contain malicious code or redirects to malicious code.

Those responsible for maintaining the sites (and their web hosting providers) are often caught by surprise because they don’t realize that their sites were vulnerable in the first place and often don’t realize their sites have been compromised.

Once they are aware, it does take some time for them to identify and remove the problem, and block access to further compromise.

If you are a visitor to the sites in question, you will need to understand that even if you don’t have a problem when visiting the site, other people’s computers may be vulnerable in a way that yours is not.

If you are the owner (or responsible party) of the site, there are people here who can try to help you identify the issues with the site and find a resolution.

I’ve been investigating the current causes and with a few good pointers from Kaleh, I might have a technical explanation for this.

Several sites have reported that google-analytics are identified as the source of infection and subsequent blocking. In the instances that I’ve found, it all seems to indicate a hack that added malware code to the script that is usually associated with the Google Analytics. Hence the reason google identifies themselves as the source of the infection.

In the analytics script of the site there is the following scripting in that section
src=“http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js”
src=“../drupal-5.1/misc/google_show_ads.js”

There could, in theory, be added contents to the google_show_ads.js that is causing this. If you would please verify the contents of the script file and validate this as not being the source of the malware detection.

Just to finish off the last, and wierdiest of all the request for assistance.

The site is now off the suspicious lists, and I suspect that the javascript file was indeed the culprit of the problem.

But – oops. There’s still malware on the page. I see several instances of obfuscated scripts spread out throughout the site. If this is not attempted deception or malware, what else would it be.

These “new” incidents seem to be calling up a stats.js from 84 244 138 xx

The host with the source badware seems to have been brought to a stop, i.e. the Hosting company seems to have taken action to stop the spread of the malware at it’s source.

In addition Judicialwatch.org have cleaned up the additional code present on the site and seems to have a good grip on the present state of the site.

Remember to identify the hacker entrypoint to prevent this from happening in the future.
