Thats an interesting twist on the badware distribution. It could be caused by different things.
I would think this had to do with some malware already installed on your computer, but I wouldn’t be sure about that. Do have a look to see if there is even a remote possibility that something ís hidden in your computer.
I did check a few of the pages on ebay, and was not targeted by any malicious software.
Yea thats true i did find a couple viruses in my scan i did after that. The item was a (psp 2000 replacement buttons) and the picture had the front of buttons looking right and the buttons borders surrounded by black. After that i tried other items and it worked perfectly. So i think that particular item was probably linked to a site that was distributing malware.
This may have been due to a problem at the Auctiva.com website in the past few days – a lot of eBay sellers use Auctiva to host additional product pictures, etc., and Auctiva was flagged for a day or two recently. The Auctiva site is now cleaned up as far as I can tell, and it is no longer flagged. I of course don’t know for sure, but if the page you visited had an Auctiva embed on it, that could easily have been the cause.
